"Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without
surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; listen to others, even the dull
and ignorant; they too have their story."
Edgar Allan Poe's death
Did Edgar Allan Poe die in the name of a just political system? Who knows? Theories above.
Billie Holiday (official site)
Baltimore, Philadelphia, or on the way? This is the mystery of Billie Holiday's birth - where?
The real name, Eleanor Fagan Gough, which websites and books that promote or write that Billie Holiday was not born in
Baltimore do not site as real name "Eleanor Fagan Holiday." Apparently they aren't familiar with Gough or Gough Street, found
in Baltimore City, NOT Philadelphia. The websites that write that Billie is born in Philadelphia do not even mention the fact
that much of her life and career was spent in Baltimore City. An important fact to biography buffs: where and when an artist
began their career. So one could conceivably conclude that the authors could be anti-Baltimore and anti-Maryland, attempting
to grab historic genius at any cost.

and then just disappearing.

the 1800's, now haunts this area.
USF Constellation Located on Pier 1, this is probably Baltimore's most known haunting. Capt.
Thomas Truxtum ordered Sailor Neal Harvey to be strapped to a gun while it was being shot. This killed Harvey, and now both
he and the Capt. haunt the original ship. The ship that is now in Baltimore was built in 1853,and is not the original, it
is believed to be haunted by a friend Sailor who tends to give tours to visitors!
MODERN DAY
Baltimore Train Tunnel Fire
On July 18th, 2001 the Howard Street Tunnel, known as Interstate 95 of the train industry, had a CSX train derailment
along with a chemical fire. The mysterious contention still lingers on as to how and why this fire occurred
in the more than 100 year old tunnel. A flood occurred near Camden Yards due to main water breakages by the heat of
the fire, closing business and distrupting light rail sevice. Neighborhoods surrounding the fire like Mt. Vernon, Mt.Royal,
Bolton Hill, and Marble Hill were mandated to shut all windows and stay home if not necessary to travel (work) for
5 days, keeping all pets inside. It froze the entire East Coast commodity train service and internet and some
telephone service due to cables that were damaged throughout the entire United States. Who knew Baltimore is so
powerful! What a power hub!
